Heidi Fisher – K4 Teacher
Hello! My name is Heidi Fisher, and I am very blessed to be the K4 teacher at New Covenant! I graduated summa cum laude from Grove City College with a degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education. I taught Kindergarten in Lebanon for 5 years before becoming “Mom” to our 4 children. Over the years, I taught 3 of my children in a preschool co-op in a home setting, and found such a passion and joy in teaching preschool that I was thrilled by the opportunity to return to the classroom in K4 at New Covenant. I love this age-group and delight in sharing in the beginning of children’s educational experience! My husband, Bryce and I are grateful to have all 4 of our children attend New Covenant too! I enjoy spending time with my family and friends at home, our church: Lebanon Area Evangelical Free Church, the beach, or in the suburbs of Cleveland, Ohio, where I am originally from.
One of my favorite scriptures is from the book of Mark 10:14-16
“He said to them, ‘Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. Truly I tell you, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.’And he took the children in his arms, placed his hands on them and blessed them.”
This scripture has always provoked a vision in my heart for the love that God has for little children, and I share the heart of Jesus to see the little children blessed and accept the kingdom of God with all of the child-like innocence and purity in their hearts.

My favorite verse is 1 Corinthians 15:58 “Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain”
Mary Minor – First Grade Teacher
Amy Krick – Second Grade Teacher
I was born and raised in Lebanon, and graduated from Millersville University in 1999 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education. I taught in Maryland for two years, Harrisburg City for five years, and Lebanon City five years. I then took a two year break to stay home with my youngest daughter, however, my passion and calling from God was to return to teaching. I am so blessed to have made my way to New Covenant Christian School, and I love the opportunity I have to work for a school who is committed to teaching the Word of God and preparing students to be leaders for Christ. This is my second year teaching second grade at New Covenant, and I could not be more honored to work for the Lord and teach the children at this school.
I attend Lebanon Area Evangelical Free Church in Jonestown, where I also volunteer in the Children’s Ministry. Verses that I find inspirational are:
Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong. And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is. May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God.
Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. And let endurance have its perfect result, so that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.
“For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.”

Abbey Demler – Fifth Grade Teacher
My name is Abigail Demler and this will be my fourth year at New Covenant Christian School. However, this will be my eleventh year as a teacher. I have spent seven years teaching 5th and 6th grade at the Math/Science Academy in the Harrisburg City School District. I attended Eastern University where I earned my bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. After college, I was introduced to the Harrisburg School District through my husband, who was also a teacher there, but at the high school level. Throughout my years in Harrisburg I feel that the Lord has provided me with wonderful mentors, colleagues, educational opportunities and an overwhelming amount of passion for my job as an educator. My decision to come to New Covenant was led by my desire to be closer to my family. In 2009 my husband and I welcomed our first child, Qynne Alyse, who is now seven and is in 2nd grade. We were blessed with our second child in 2011, Jay Braden, who will be starting kindergarten this year! Our youngest child, Hayes, is a 20 month old “spit-fire” who always keeps us on our toes 🙂 New Covenant has provided me with an opportunity to be closer to home while giving my own children an educational foundation that is saturated with the “Love of Christ.” I am extremely excited to be a part of the New Covenant family and am overjoyed to be able to share Christ’s love with my students.
“Be joyful always pray continually give thanks in all circumstances for this is God’s will for you, in Christ Jesus.” 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
Ruth Hennigh – Adjunct Faculty
My husband, Paul and I have 4 children. Joshua is a senior at Waynesburg University and Sarah is a freshman at Geneva College. My other two daughters now attend New Covenant, Rachel in 9th and Rebekah in 11th. In my free time I love spending time with my husband and kids, enjoying walks and watching them play sports. I also enjoy reading.
My favorite Bible verse is Hebrews 13:5b “Be content with what you have, because God has said, Never will I leave you or forsake you.”
Millie Leininger – Teacher’s Aide
Christine Jansma – Teacher’s Aide
Sharon Worley – Teacher’s Aide
I love assisting my husband with his pastoral role at our church. I often help with the teen activities/programs throughout the year as well as the church’s music ministry. I have been blessed to be able to go on several missions trips each summer with our church youth.
One of my favorite passages of Scripture is Isaiah 41:10 where God says to not be afraid. He will uphold me, strengthen me, and hold my hand. I have used that for encouragement when I need to do hard things in life and have used it often to encourage the children or teens around me.
