Part of the mission at NCCS is to help our students grow into effective Christian leaders and impact our local community and the world beyond for Christ. Our Leadership Development Committee—the principal and several staff members—coordinates these services.
At the elementary level, all teachers proactively look for ways to incorporate leadership principles in their everyday teaching, including giving students leadership roles and opportunities to discuss what it means to be Christian leaders.
Students in grades 6-12 attend one class each month devoted to education and and the discussion of Christian leadership. The workings of student government (election of officers, fundraising, mission trips) occurs within these classes. The faculty also emphasize awareness of current events and their real or potential impact on Christians.
A leadership library comprised of various books and resources is available to students.
New Covenant provides opportunities to practice leadership skills through the election of class officers in grades 6-12. The elected presidents and vice presidents form the Student Council whose purpose is to unify and improve New Covenant and build school spirit. The Student Council plans several events throughout the year to support these goals.
